A Peaceful Space to Pray
May God's Kingdom come and will be done in and through CHBC as we become a "house of prayer for all peoples" (Isa. 56:7).
Flowing from a powerful week of unceasing prayer thru Holy Week, we will continue to make the prayer room available during normal business hours:
- Monday–Thursday 8 am – 5 pm;
- Friday 9 am – 2 pm;
- Sunday "Boiler Rooms" during 9 am and 11 am services.
Please take advantage of this peaceful space set aside for the CHBC family to seek God and intercede for the Kingdom. We will continue to provide prayer resources to guide you (if needed) and weekly prayer requests and themes to pray over, as well as a prayer board to express your heart through words and/or images.
HOW RESERVATIONS WORK: Reservations can be made in 30 min blocks. Feel free to reserve this room for both individual and group prayer time. Unlike during our Holy Week 24-hour initiative there will not be a prayer room host to keep your time so please be diligent in staying within your reservation. Please contact Pastor Ryan if you have any specific questions about the room.
Where is the Prayer Room?
Please enter the building through the office entrance, go up the stairs or elevator to second floor, and the prayer room is located in "The Parlor" [room 304] in adult classroom wing.
What is the "Boiler Room"?
During the 9 & 11 am services, the Parlor (in Adult Education wing) will be opened up to a communal time of intercession to call upon the Spirit to work with power throughout each service. We call this time and space the "Boiler Room" –– a nickname 19th-century English preacher, Charles Spurgeon, coined for his prayer gatherings, which commonly took place in the basement/boiler room of New Park Street Church. Spurgeon declared this was “the powerhouse of the church.” Leaders will be present to welcome and guide you in prayer. No registration needed.
